Opportunity Overview
You have an opportunity to remind the people of Peru they are seen and extravagantly loved by taking part in a Vision Trip with Movement Foundation in partnership with South American Mission (SAM).
This trip is for you if:
- You enjoy South American culture, speak Spanish, or would like to learn
- You enjoy trying new things and eating amazing food
- You love playing with kids and building intentional relationships
- You’re willing to be flexible and roll up your sleeves and work on building project or help with a medical clinic
What you’ll do:
The purpose of this team will be to engage with the ministries of Pastor Pablo Carhuachin in the Cerro Colorado District in the province of Arequipa, Peru. A potential itinerary for this trip could include:
- Visit Local Churches: Engage with the congregation and pastors and participate in worship services.
- Medical Campaign: Partner with local healthcare professionals, assist with health screenings, and distribute basic medical supplies.
- Community Outreach & Children's Program: Build relationships and interact with children in the local schools and orphanages.
About Peru and the ministry:
Peru is an incredibly diverse and vibrant country, with a rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and a fascinating mix of traditions and modernity. Arequipa is located in southern Peru, nestled between the Andes mountains and the coastal deserts.
SAM has been involved in Peru for many years, particularly in areas such as Arequipa, working with local churches to strengthen them through training, evangelism, and community development. Teams often serve in medical missions, children’s programs, and church partnerships.
The cost is $2,400 per person, which covers all travel, lodging, meals and ministry expense. Movement Employees will receive a $500 mission grant. The grant is not available for family members. If this is your first vision trip with Movement you may be eligible for 2 days of PTO. There is also an opportunity to apply for additional scholarship.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Passport- All team members will need to have a valid passport. If an individual’s passport expires within SIX months of the return date, then he/she needs to plan to renew the passport. Passport information can be found on the US Department of State’s website (https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html)
- Background check will be required
