Dominican Republic with Food for the Hungry- November

WHEN
Nov 11 2026 - Nov 15 2026
WHERE
Santo Domingo, DO
COST
$2,400.00

You have an incredible opportunity to take part in a Movement vision trip in partnership with Food for the Hungry (FH) in the Dominican Republic.

In 2025, Movement launched a new partnership with Food for the Hungry in La Victoria, Dominican Republic. We chose to partner with FH because their mission aligns closely with ours—bringing life, dignity, and hope through sustainable, relationship-based solutions that break the cycle of poverty. Through this partnership, Movement employees now have the unique opportunity to meet their sponsored children and gain firsthand experience of the community we will be walking alongside. Sponsoring a child is a meaningful way to build a personal connection and directly support long-term change within this community. If you would like to sponsor a child, please click here.

This trip is for you if:

  • You desire to serve in a way that honors local leadership and community dignity
  • You enjoy learning about new cultures and building meaningful relationships
  • You want to have the opportunity to meet your sponsored child
  • You are open to listening, learning, and engaging in holistic development
  • You’re willing to roll up your sleeves and participate in hands-on service projects

What you’ll do:

Community Partnership & Engagement:
Serve alongside local Food for the Hungry staff and community leaders, supporting initiatives already in place rather than one-time activities. The focus is on collaboration, mutual learning, and long-term impact.

Hands-On Service Projects:
Participate in work projects based on community priorities and team capacity. These may include light construction, painting, rehabilitation projects, medical outreach, or other community improvement efforts.

Relational Ministry:
Spend intentional time building relationships which may include:

  • Child sponsorship visits and quality time with sponsored children
  • Home visits with local families to better understand daily life and community context
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) activities with children
  • Teen talks and youth sessions centered on encouragement, leadership, and life skills

Learning & Reflection:
Engage in cultural orientation, guided reflection, and meetings with community leadership to learn about local challenges, priorities, and development efforts. The experience concludes with a farewell ceremony celebrating relationships, shared learning, and the mutual impact of the partnership.

About the Dominican Republic & FH:

Food for the Hungry is committed to ending all forms of human poverty by walking alongside communities in Christ-centered, sustainable development. Their work addresses spiritual, social, and physical needs, empowering local leaders and strengthening communities from within.

This trip is intentionally designed to:

  • Support community-led initiatives
  • Foster mutual learning and cultural respect
  • Strengthen long-term development efforts already underway
  • Help participants gain a deeper understanding of sustainable, faith-based transformation

This is not simply a trip; it is a partnership—one that honors community dignity, values long-term impact, and invites participants into meaningful transformation. To learn more about Food for the Hungry visit their website
