Mexico with Back2Back Ministries - November 2025
You have an incredible life-changing opportunity to take part in a Movement vision trip to Monterrey, Mexico in partnership with Back2Back Ministries.
This trip is for you if:
- If you have a passion for bringing holistic care to children and families to one of the largest cities in Mexico
- You enjoy playing with and loving on children
- Enjoy learning about new cultures and building intentional relationships
- You're willing to roll up your sleeves and help out with a project
- You want to gain a fresh perspective on life and be encouraged and challenged in new ways
Back2Back partners with children’s homes and local ministries who are already involved in caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as impoverished communities. They also partner with individuals, schools, churches, civic groups, and businesses to create a bridge between people in need and people with resources. During your vision trip, you’ll work alongside staff members who serve at each ministry location and you’ll have the opportunity to provide much-needed help with projects to improve the children’s homes and communities they serve.
The most powerful impact you will have is the love you can offer by giving up your time and resources to meet the children where they are. By showing children they are seen and known, loved, and cared for, you’re helping them heal from wounds in their past.
About Monterrey and the ministry:
The Monterrey area is the third largest metropolitan area in Mexico. Home to over four million people, Monterrey is an important industrial and commercial city, with many national and international companies operating in the city. Often considered the most “Americanized” Mexican city, it is also one of the wealthiest. However, there is a large divide between Monterrey’s wealthy population and its impoverished. With a very small middle class, much of the city’s population lives at, or below, the poverty line. One of the biggest challenges of life in Mexico is education. Mandatory public education ends after eighth grade. High school is costly, meaning most of the country’s poor aren’t able to attend.
Back2Back Ministries is dedicated to being a voice for orphans. We exist to love and care for orphaned and vulnerable children by meeting their spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social needs that they might overcome their life circumstances and break free from the cycle of generational poverty. In 1997, Todd and Beth Guckenberger, Back2Back CoExecutive Directors, stepped out in faith and moved their lives to Monterrey, Mexico to love on the orphaned child. Today, partnerships with several local children’s homes allow a large team of Back2Back staff, partnered with qualified and called social workers, psychologists, tutors, and a growing local volunteer movement, to consistently provide holistic care at Back2Back’s first site. The large separation between the wealthy and poor in Monterrey means our work is absolutely critical to break cycles of poverty.
*The cost is $1600 which includes flight cost. This covers all travel, lodging, meals and ministry/project expense. The team will be staying at their main ministry campus in men and women’s quarters.
