It's been over a month since we went on the trip, and all I can say is that I'm so glad I went!
My wife and I were both a bit skeptical about the amount of traveling needed to get there, but overall, it was well worth it! This was our first vision trip, traveling for purpose instead of leisure, which has opened my horizons to the amazing work others are doing worldwide, and has only fueled my desire to go out and give back more! The trip overall was incredibly fulfilling, perspective-shifting, and is now something my wife and I can look back on for the rest of our lives.
As for the Remember Nhu organization, they opened my eyes to the people out there fighting for the little kids who didn't have anyone fighting for them. It was such a pleasure to go and serve these kids for the week we were there. But honestly, when I say "serve," all we did was just become kids for the entire week, playing games, sports, and joking around and laughing with them. They don't ask for much at all and are so grateful for us to be there (even with the language barrier). The best part, though, is these kids end up teaching us so much more than we can provide to them. Their creativity, inspiration, and kindness with so little are unmatched and leave a lasting imprint on you that is incredibly noticeable when you return home.
Naturally, our group bonded so much through all this love, kindness, and fun, and I'm grateful for all those I was able to meet and get to know throughout.
If you are questioning going on one of these trips, just know there will be a ton of reasons that come up not to go. But don't focus on those! Focus on the ones why you should go. I promise you'll find what you're looking for and then some. :)
Thank you, Thailand / Remember Nhu!!
