My Amazing Mission to Mexico!

I knew we were going to be working, I knew I would meet new people, I knew I would experience the presence of God, I just didn't know how much it all would affect me. Going on this mission is one of the best things I've done, yes there were times when I was hot and tired and wondering "what in the world I'm I doing in the middle of the desert in Mexico cleaning the grounds of a ranch located directly on the sun", yea it was that hot, but it was worth it. The Ranch is a special place filled with special people, we prayed everyday multiple times per day, before meals, before activities, during visits into the neighborhoods, at church, at a taco shop, it was refreshing. The people of La Paz are the warmest, most loving and accepting people, they worked with us, they invited us into their homes, they trusted us with their children. Living on a solar powered ranch were your void of everyday luxuries really makes you appreciate what you have and shows you how much others do without, but they don't complain, they work harder than most have to and they do it with a smile on their face and love in their heart. I also meet some amazing people within the Movement family, these four wonderful people that embarked on this journey with me, Dave, Angelique, Jamahl, and Craig helped make the trip an unforgettable one, they are all dear to my heart and I am honored to call each of them my friends. There are many needs in La Paz, but one need that was highlighted while we were there was the continued need to reach the youth with the Word of God. La Paz's drug and cartel issue is rapidly growing, daily work wages only buy some bread and milk, and there aren't many churches in the area. The Ranch staff and missionaries go out into the neighborhoods and speak the Word of God to the children at a local park, they play baseball with the kids in a dirt lot across from their homes, they bring them to the ranch to hear The Word, to love them, to talk to them, to listen to them, and to make sure these kids know, they are loved. I know these and other needs are felt all over the world, but you have to start somewhere and I'm glad I started here and had the opportunity to experience this. I only hope I left something in Mexico that compares to what I got out of this mission.
