NC Foster Care Summer Camp Volunteer with Least of These Carolinas - August 2025

Join Movement on a Local Vision Trip with Least of These Carolinas this August.

You’re invited to be part of an incredible opportunity to serve alongside Least of These Carolinas (LOT)—a local nonprofit supporting children in foster care—at Bridge Camp, a life-changing summer experience for kids in foster and kinship care across the Carolinas.

About Bridge Camp:

Bridge Camp hosts 150 children, ages 8–18 (still in high school), who are either currently in foster/kinship care or were adopted from foster care within the past year. The camp is a safe, joyful environment where they can build friendships, make lasting memories, and know they’re not alone on their journey. Activities include swimming, gaga ball, canoeing, zip-lining, chapel, and more!

📅 Dates:

• Full Week: Monday, August 4 – Saturday, August 9, 2025
• Half-Day Options: Wednesday, August 6 – Friday, August 8 (choose AM or PM shifts)

📍 Location: 

• Camp Harrison YMCA Camp – Boomer, NC

🤝 Volunteer Opportunities:

• Flexible helpers and security support—making sure campers are where they need to be and jumping in as needed.
• Shifts available:
  7:30 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Wed–Fri)
• Requirements: Background check only.
• No statement of faith required.

• Full-week commitment (Aug 4–9) required.
• You’ll stay in the cabin with a lead counselor and campers, helping with daily routines, offering encouragement and support, and assisting wherever needed.
• Requirements:
  • Background check will be provided
  • Trauma-informed care training will be provided
  • Interview
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Signed statement of faith is required.

💵 Cost:

Free to participate!
(Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp.)
