Dominican Republic with Go MAD - May 2024
You have an incredible life-changing opportunity to take part in a Movement vision trip in partnership with Go MAD. This trip will include our Movement employees and family members and affiliates.
This trip is for you if:
- You are interested in education and playing with kids
- Enjoy learning about new cultures and building intentional relationships
- You're willing to roll up your sleeves and help out with a construction project
- You want to gain a fresh perspective on life and be encouraged and challenged in new ways
What you’ll do:
8th — arrive, hotel, orientation – probably in our Women’s Center, depending on activities happening there…. Introduction to Go MAD
9th – out to Severet, meet community leaders, help with the kitchen construction, visit in the small village school, lunch at the community president’s home. Afternoon visit to Caraballo, as it’s near by, see learn about the needs in the community there.
10th— Return to Severet to help with building project, afternoon visit to either the drug & alcohol rehab center of Nazarth House, which is a home for children with disabilities which we help fund.
11th – Excursion day, visit an eco garden, river boat tour, swim, amazing meal….
12th – English speaking church before lunch at the hotel and flying home!

*The cost is $2500 which includes flight cost. This covers all travel, lodging, meals and ministry expense.
**Movement employees will receive a $500 grant. The grant is not available for family members. If this is your first vision trip with Movement you may be eligible for 2 days of PTO.

Requirements
Prerequisites
- Passport- All team members will need to have a valid passport to travel. If an individual’s passport expires within SIX months of the return date, then he/she needs to plan to renew the passport. Passport information can be found on the US Department of State’s website (https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html)
Restrictions
- You must be a Movement employee or family member of an employee in order to be eligible for this opportunity.
Preparation
- It is important that you plan to make a visit with your local physician for guidance on medications and vaccinations in relation to your personal health.
