My experience in Quito was incredibly special. Everyone we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and joyful. Our group had a particularly impactful day facilitating a Field Day for kids and hosting a Spa Day for moms & daughters. I felt like we were able to provide the opportunity and supplies, and the families involved with E=H provided the love and energy to make the day so special. I particularly loved that we were able to spend quality time at the local church. We were able to share in the normal daily parts of life at church such as worship, bible study, and afterschool tutoring. It was beautiful to see cultures and faith shared - even with a language barrier. I was very impressed with how E=H set up the structure of the experience. We were able to explore Quito and learn about the area, history, and people. We also had helpful classroom sessions with E=H leaders that helped us fully understand what a Short Term Mission is and how we can serve intentionally and productively. Our time in Quito wrapped up with time for us to self-reflect and then spend time as a small group. This Short Term Mission experience was truly focused on loving people and creating relationships.
