Wasn't Sure I Could Do It but Succeeded Anyway

I thought the vision trip to Montana would include some struggles for me, and I was right, but in a good way!

While we all went to Montana to help Trails End Ranch get their camp ready, I think the team all ended up helped in one way or another, whether it was making a new friend, seeing snow for the first time, or even conquering a fear of heights, we all changed a bit on that trip.

The trip to the ranch included two long flights and an almost as long van ride through multiple states. During our travel there, I would say we started bonding with each other quickly, and that was key to our outstanding week.
Meeting all the staff at the ranch, along with the Pardee family, and then finding out how much work they needed to accomplish made me a little anxious. I'm not a stranger to hard work, but it was work I had never done before, and I wanted to be sure I was contributing to their success.

Not only did I learn how to install rebar, use a skill saw, climb ladders to drill into metal sheeting, and re-learn horseback riding, but I also learned how to be better at being with people & just listening.

The week was long and strenuous but so rewarding! The staff of the ranch were so kind and giving of their time, wisdom, and food! They made sure we were very well fed and even changed menus for dietary concerns. The team had fantastic meals and even better conversations.

I would say the ONLY thing I did not like was the van ride back to the airport - for various reasons. 😊 The ranch holds a special place in the community, where it serves the youth of Ekalaka, MT. It's hard to imagine what that area would be without it. If you have the chance to do the next vision trip to Montana, I cannot recommend it enough.
